Background

Dawn advises and defends employers in workers’ compensation and employment matters. In this capacity, she represents her clients in mediations, in litigation at the North Carolina Industrial Commission and in appeals before the North Carolina Supreme Court. She is experienced in defending hospitals in workers’ compensation and employment matters and in defending occupational exposure claims, including asbestosis and silicosis claims. Her clients include Rex HealthCare, Cracker Barrel, General Electric, North Carolina Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Company, Gallagher Bassett and Allied Claims Administration

Dawn joined Young Moore and Henderson in 1996 after completing a judicial clerkship at the North Carolina Court of Appeals with Judges Jack Cozart and Donnie Smith. She is a senior member of the firm’s workers’ compensation team. She is an active member of several firm management committees and represents the firm in several ALFA International practice groups including workers’ compensation, employment law and women in the profession. Dawn regularly speaks at seminars for clients and other lawyers on workers’ compensation and employment law topics.
