Background

Toni Herwig practices in estate planning, estate administration, and business planning. She advises tax-exempt organizations, charities, and individual donors in matters related to non-profit law. As a member of Young Moore and Henderson’s estate planning and probate team, Toni works with clients to tailor estate plans for the disposition of assets and the reduction of estate and gift taxes.

For business clients, Toni assists with issues from formation to dissolution, including choice of entity, shareholder agreements, leases, and other third-party agreements, and the acquisition and sale of assets and ownership interests. She also helps form and complete the application for tax exempt status for charitable organizations, non-profit corporations, supporting organizations and title holding companies. Toni counsels and assists private foundations and non-profit corporations with preparation of bylaws, development of conflict of interest policies, fundraising licenses, charitable gift acceptance policies, and other contracts.

Toni practiced law for five years in Maryland and the District of Columbia before joining Young Moore and Henderson as an associate in 2008.
