William P. Daniell became a shareholder at Young Moore and Henderson in the Spring of 2003 after practicing for more than 25 years with a firm in Durham. While Bill's practice is now focused primarily on the defense of cases involving alleged medical malpractice, he has also handled the litigation of business disputes, tax issues, real estate matters, condemnation proceedings and the defense of professional liability claims against lawyers, real estate agents and vocational rehabilitation specialists. Bill occasionally pursues significant personal injury claims on behalf of individuals who have been injured in a non-medical setting.

Bill's litigation practice has included numerous jury trials in both state and federal courts, and he has been involved in over 30 reported appellate decisions in the North Carolina Court of Appeals, North Carolina Supreme Court and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. Bill's litigation experience has also included the representation of clients in various forms of alternative dispute resolution, including binding arbitration proceedings.

Bill is married to Marcia, who is Director of Curriculum Development at Durham Technical Community College, and he has two grown sons. He is a member of the Chapel of the Cross, an Episcopal parish in Chapel Hill, where he has served on the Vestry, as Chairman of the Finance Committee and Chairman of the Long Range Planning Committee.
