Marvin M. Spivey Jr.

Mickey Spivey joined Young Moore and Henderson in 1986, after practicing in a small general practice firm in Charlotte, North Carolina for over two years. Since joining Young Moore and Henderson, he has focused his practice in insurance law and regulation and in business and commercial matters.

One of Mickey's primary responsibilities at the firm is the representation of the North Carolina Rate Bureau and the North Carolina Reinsurance Facility. The Rate Bureau is responsible for rates, loss costs and policy forms for automobile, property and workers' compensation insurance in North Carolina and the Reinsurance Facility is responsible for providing automobile liability insurance for insureds who cannot obtain coverage in the voluntary insurance market in North Carolina.

Mickey also has experience with a wide variety of business and commercial matters. These include the selection and organization of the business entity, the arrangements between owners, the purchase and sale of businesses and professional practices, advising owners with respect to day to day legal matters, and assisting owners with the resolution of problems and disputes. He also has extensive experience with insurance law, having participated for a number of years in all aspects of the firm's general representation of a life and health insurance company and a property and casualty insurance company.
